Stevenson University Endowed Scholarship Funds

Students will be reviewed and considered for Endowed funds based upon specified criteria below. See Stevenson University Scholarship and Grant Programs for more information. 

The Abell Foundation Scholarship is awarded to economically disadvantaged minority students who demonstrate financial need.

The AEGON, USA Inc. Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman enrolled in the School of Business and Leadership with financial need who exhibits outstanding academic promise and leadership. Recipient should identify as an individual from a traditionally underrepresented racial or ethnic population.

The George I. Alden Trust Scholarship Fund is awarded to deserving students with a portion of the award reserved for non-traditional adult students.

The American Citizens for Italian Matters (ACIM) / Italian Heritage Scholarship is awarded to rising sophomore female students of Italian heritage who reside in Maryland, have a minimum 2.6 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Selection based on academic performance and participation in activities and leadership roles.

The Sandra Barkin, RN Memorial Scholarship in Nursing is awarded to junior nursing students with financial need in good academic standing, who exhibit a caring nature and involvement in community service.

The Peter Harry Joseph Bauer Endowed Scholarship is awarded to academically deserving students with financial need within the greater Baltimore area.

The BDO USA, LLP Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students with financial need enrolled in the accounting program.

The Sandra and Malcom Berman Family Endowed Scholarship in Nursing is awarded to a rising junior in the nursing program with financial need, a minimum 3.3 GPA, who exhibits a caring and compassionate character.

The James T. & Francine G. Brady Scholarship is awarded to rising junior and senior students to aid with funding gaps. Candidates must have financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5.

The Dr. Joseph A. Brusini Scholarship for the Sciences is awarded to a junior year student with financial need and a minimum 3.25 GPA enrolled in a major in one of the following departments of the Fine School of the Sciences:  Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, or a major in the physical sciences within the Department of Mathematics and Physics.

The Bunting Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund is awarded to students with financial need.

The Helen Fitzgerald Byrnes Endowed Scholarship for Visual Communication Design is awarded to a student in the visual communication design program with financial need to help them achieve academic excellence.

The Maureen Knerr Byrnes Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education is awarded to a student(s) with demonstrated financial need who is majoring in elementary education and exhibits leadership and involvement in community service.

The Erin M. Campbell ’08 Endowed Scholarship Fund is awarded to a rising junior or senior student enrolled full-time in the traditional undergraduate nursing program in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.

The Tori Chandler Endowed Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate counseling and human services majors with demonstrated financial need, excellent academic credentials with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Preference given to candidates who have transferred from Carroll Community College or another community college.

The CohnReznick Accounting Scholarship is awarded to rising sophomore, junior, or senior accounting students with a minimum 3.2 overall GPA and demonstrated financial need, with preference for students who have not yet interned at another public accounting firm.

The Conrow Family Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in history with high academic achievement and financial need, who have completed three semesters as a Public History major with a 3.5 GPA.

The Barbara Smith Dannettel '61 Endowed Scholarship is awarded to one male rising junior student with financial need who demonstrates leadership skills through participation in extracurricular or community service activities.

The Geraldine and Sam Dell Endowed Scholarship for Character and Excellence in Business is awarded to an exceptional senior student in the Brown School of Business and Leadership who demonstrates strong ethical grounding and a work ethic resulting in academic and personal success. Preference is given to Business Administration majors.

The Geraldine and Sam Dell Endowed Scholarship for Character and Excellence in the Sciences is awarded to an exceptional senior student with a major in one of the following departments of the Fine School of the Sciences: the Department of Biological Sciences, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, or the Department of Mathematics and Physics. Candidates must demonstrate strong ethical grounding and a work ethic resulting in academic and personal success.

The Duncan-Ellis-McNally Endowed Accounting Scholarship Fund is awarded to a full-time fourth year student with a minimum 3.5 GPA who has completed ACC202 with at least a B in the course. Award based on merit and financial need with a strong priority on academic achievement.

The Henry and Pamela Felton Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students with financial need, a strong work ethic, a record of academic success, and a drive to make a difference in the community.

The Linda Connolly Fenton Endowed Scholarship in Nursing is awarded to a student(s) with financial need and demonstrated academic achievement enrolled in the nursing program. 

The France-Merrick Foundation Scholarship is awarded to first generation collegians with financial need, especially minorities and residents of Baltimore City.

The Franyo-Ehlers Endowed Scholarship for Human Services is awarded to a full-time traditional rising junior who has been at SU for a minimum of one semester prior to their sophomore year. Merit based scholarship for the student with the highest cumulative GPA in the fall semester of sophomore year.

The Hackerman Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund is awarded to academically talented female students from historically underrepresented groups.

The Shannon Henretty Endowed Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior student enrolled in the nursing program with demonstrated financial need and a 3.2 or greater GPA. Preference given to candidates involved in charitable causes.

The Herget Endowed Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the nursing program, with preference given to candidates expressing a desire to serve as a nurse for at least two years in a hospital in the state of Maryland after graduation. Student must be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and have a high probability of success in the nursing profession.

The Elliot and Jeri Hirshman Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in a traditional undergraduate program with high academic standing and demonstrated financial need.

The Nancy Hubble Endowed Scholarship for First Generation Collegians is awarded to a freshman student with financial need and great academic promise who is the first in their immediate family to attend college.

The Donna and Robert Kahoe Endowed Scholarship is awarded to one sophomore, junior or senior student majoring in legal studies with a 3.0 or higher GPA based on financial need with a preference for a non-traditional student.

The Joseph S. Keelty Endowed Nursing Scholarship is awarded to students in the nursing program with good academic standing, demonstrated financial need, and a high probability of success in nursing profession. Preference given to candidates expressing a desire to serve as a nurse at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center for at least two years after graduation.

The Joseph S. Keelty Endowed Scholarship is awarded to rising sophomores, juniors or seniors in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.

The Honorable and Mrs. Francis X. Kelly Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student, preferably a rising sophomore, with academic achievement who is the first in their immediate family to attend college.

The Knapheide Endowed Scholarship for Human Services is a merit based award for a full-time rising senior(s) in the counseling and human services program who has been a student for a minimum of one semester prior to the junior year. Selected student(s) must have junior year status in the counseling and human services major and have the highest cumulative GPA in the fall semester of junior year.

The M&T Bank Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education is awarded to students with financial need enrolled in the elementary education program.

The Nicholas B. and Mary C. Mangione Family Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate nursing major with financial need and good academic standing.

The Kevin J. and Sara G. Manning Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student who is the first in their immediate family to attend college.

The Carolyn Manuszak Scholarship Fund in Memory of Dr. T.J. Manuszak is awarded to incoming freshmen or recent transfer students with demonstrated financial need.

The M. Carolee Martelle '63 '89 '97 Endowed Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior student(s) with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA who is pursuing a degree in the Brown School of Business and Leadership or the Fine School of the Sciences.

The Mary McCarthy-Cohen ’81 Scholarship Fund is awarded to a freshman legal studies major with demonstrated financial need.

The Hilda Lee Menning Endowed Scholarship for Nursing is awarded to students with financial need in the nursing program.

The Joseph Henry Menning Endowed Scholarship for Biology is awarded to one full-time undergraduate student from the local area majoring in biology with the intent to become a physician who has financial need, with 3.2 or better GPA. Recipient will have a part-time job and be personally funding a significant portion of college expenses.

The Middendorf Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Nursing is awarded to a deserving student(s) with financial need enrolled in the pre-licensure nursing program.

The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students age 25 or above who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, have earned at least 60 credits toward their degree with either full-time or part-time enrollment, have unmet financial need and a minimum 2.5 GPA.

The Pugatch Family Endowed Scholarship for the School of Design is awarded to a residential student(s) with financial need, who has attained junior status, declared a major within the School of Design, Arts, and Communication and has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.

The Pugh Award for Excellence is a merit based award for a rising junior in the paralegal program.

The Pugh Paralegal Scholarship is awarded to students with financial need in the paralegal program, with preference given to the highest achieving students.

The Gary A. and Joan O. Pyne Endowed Scholarship in Business is awarded to economically disadvantaged urban youth preferably from Baltimore City, with financial need and an interest in pursuing a career in business.

The Donald B. Ratcliffe Scholarship is awarded to one or more students with good academic standing and financial need, with preference for students enrolled in the nursing program.

The Reynolds Endowed Scholarship is awarded to full-time middle class undergraduate student(s) with demonstrated financial need with a GPA of 3.0 or greater.

The Jennifer and George Reynolds Endowed Scholarship in Business is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need and majoring in business with an interest in communications.

The James E. Roberts Memorial Theatre Fund Award is a merit based award for a junior theatre student.

The SC&H Group Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student(s) with demonstrated financial need enrolled in the accounting program.

The Kimberly Serio Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student who has experienced financial hardship and is determined to continue their education.

The Susan Palmer Slattery, Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a female senior year student with a major in the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Biological Sciences, or the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with a minimum 3.7 GPA. Candidates must complete the competitive application process.

The James M. & Margaret V. Stine Foundation, Inc. Endowed Scholarship in Support of the School of Business is awarded to a freshman student(s) or rising sophomore(s) demonstrating high academic standards and financial need, majoring in a discipline within the Brown School of Business and Leadership.

The James and Jacqueline Stradtner Environmental Sciences Internship Endowment is awarded to a student to support academic year paid internships in environmental sciences. Preference given to students who wish to focus on geographic information systems, environmental policy, environmental health or global climate change. When possible, funds are to be used to facilitate the recruitment of students who intend to major in environmental sciences.

The Honorable Robert F. Sweeney Scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need enrolled in the legal studies program.

The Jo-Ellen Turner, Ph.D. Endowed Scholarship in English is awarded to one academically deserving junior and one senior majoring in English. Preference given to students who have demonstrated interest in literature and writing through achievement in their course work and participation in extracurricular activities.

The Vincent O. Versace Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a rising junior student majoring in a STEM program in the Beverly K. Fine School of the Sciences, with financial need and a minimum 3.2 GPA.

The Sheila A. Walsh '92 '03M Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional student with financial need who is committed to acquiring a degree in order to advance their career, is dedicated to educational pursuits, and committed to making a positive difference in the world. Preference given to a student willing to volunteer with the Dyslexia Tutoring Program of Baltimore or other volunteer program which supports literacy.
