LAW 335 Intellectual Property Law

Covers the legal principles and rules regarding the law of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Students will examine statutes and case law and apply the principles to hypothetical case scenarios. Emphasis is placed on the skills required of paralegals and attorneys who practice in this area, including preparing copyright and trademark applications as well as using computer technology in preparing applications, maintaining records, performing trademark and patent searches and protecting confidential information.
