BME 315 Biomaterials
Examines the properties and structure of engineering, biological, and synthetic materials. Students will explore the relationship between applied loads and deformation and the influence of structure on behavior. Topics include stress and strain, constitutive relations, failure criteria, viscoelasticity, finite deformation, and biocompatibility. Laboratory experiments will provide hands-on investigation of the behavior of materials under a variety of loading scenarios.
