Pass (P)/Pass with a D (PD)/Fail (F) Option

This option pertains to credit-bearing courses. Students may take no more than two P/PD/F courses outside of the major requirements unless otherwise stipulated by the major. Students may elect to take only one P/PD/F course per semester for a total of up to two courses on the student’s transcript. The “P” in this option equates to earning a “C” or better, the “PD” signifies passing at the “D” level, and the “F” signifies failure of the course. The “P” and “PD” are not calculated in the student’s GPA. The “F” is calculated in the student’s GPA. Eligible students are permitted to register for the P/PD/F option and may switch to the graded option no later than the published course withdrawal deadline. Similarly, eligible students are permitted to switch from the graded option to the P/PD/F option no later than the published course withdrawal deadline. This option does not apply to courses that are designated as P/PD/F in the catalog.

Credit (CR)/No Credit (NC) Option

This option pertains to non-credit-bearing courses (i.e., zero credit courses). There is no limit to the number of CR/NC courses a student may take in a semester or overall, but a student must enroll in a minimum of 12 credits to remain full-time. The “CR” in this option equates to a passing grade, the “NC” equates to a failing grade. The CR/NC courses are not calculated in a student’s GPA. Students register for credit/no credit courses at the time of registration.
