ED 236 Writing in Education

Provides practice in academic and scholarly writing in the field of education, including types of writing required by state content standards (informational, opinion, argument, narrative) and state certification assessments (descriptive, analytic, reflective). Emphasizes effective and appropriate communication in writing to various stakeholders (administrators, colleagues, families, community members). Applies a five-step+ writing process (pre-drafting, drafting, revising, editing, publishing/presenting, and reflecting) that utilizes peer feedback, as well as conferencing with the instructor and participating in writing workshops.
