LAW 102 Introduction to Law

Provides students with an introductory analysis of the American legal system. Students will learn about the substantive (e.g., contract law, tort law, family law, criminal law) and procedural laws that comprise the legal system, and the impact those laws have on society. Students will explore how various contexts–historical, social, and political–shape current issues in the law. Students will also explore the roles of legal professionals and the effect of legal ethics on the practice of law. Legal specialty course (LSC).
