Financial Aid Verification
All Federal financial aid programs and many state and University aid programs require the submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The IRS Data Retrieval Tool can be used to complete the FAFSA if a student choose to use it. This tool allows students and parents to pull tax information directly from the IRS database. Many students and parents complete the FAFSA using estimated taxes. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool should be used after the annual tax returns are filed.
Financial aid applicants may be selected for a process called verification by the U.S. Department of Education and Stevenson University. This review process requires applicants to submit income documents and other information as requested by the University. Selected applicants will be notified by the SU Financial Aid Office in writing. Failure to provide the required documents or successfully complete the IRS Data Retrieval directly through the FAFSA will prevent the student from being officially offered aid. More information about the verification process and the IRS Data Retrieval Tool may be found on the Financial Aid Office website at Stevenson Financial Aid.
