MUS 108 Music Appreciation

Explores the development of music from historical and cultural perspectives and recognizes diverse and influential compositions, composers, and musical artists, past and present. Students will develop their listening skills through exposure to and analysis of musical examples from traditional, popular, and contemporary styles, genres, and representative compositions from various periods. Students will have opportunities to experience both in-person and live video performances. No musical background or training is assumed or required.
