PSY 730 Psychopharmacology

Introduces the principles of psychopharmacology, including a description of mechanisms of action, indications for selection of common psychoactive agents, and a review of side effects. Ethical and cultural implications for medication use will be discussed. Collaboration between non-prescribing psychologists and prescribers and the current status of efforts to gain prescription privileges for psychologists (RxP) will also be addressed.
