Incomplete Grades

A grade of incomplete (I) will only be granted by written request by the student and is subject to the approval of the faculty member and the academic program administrator of the major in which the course resides. The Request for Incomplete Grade form is available through the Student Menu in WebXpress under the Forms link and must be used; an email is not sufficient to request an incomplete. Incompletes are granted only when a student has completed at least 75% of the semester, and circumstances such as illness, death in the family, or a documented crisis situation prevent the student from completing the course by the end of the semester or session. A grade of incomplete must be requested no later than the last day of classes at the end of the semester or session in which the student is taking the course. A student must submit to their instructor the work outlined on the submitted Request for Incomplete Grade form no later than 30 days after the last day of the semester. The instructor then has five days to submit a change of grade to the Registrar’s Office. If the grade is not changed within this time frame (35 days from the last day of the semester), the grade of “I” will automatically convert to a grade of "F". Exceptions to this policy require special review by the Dean of the School in which the course resides.
