GDES 445 Senior Capstone Research Studio

Prepares students to develop and produce their Senior Capstone Project. Students are given the opportunity to identify and focus on their unique area of research. Studio exploration is dedicated to the initial steps of the design process including research, visual design investigation, significant design concept prototyping, and testing ideas with an audience. Proposed project outcomes can include, but are not limited to, the design of products, objects, design systems, interactive experiences, and processes. Ambitious concepts tackling cultural, political, social, or economic issues are encouraged. Coursework culminates in a public presentation to design professionals and a design research document including analysis of sources, consideration of audience, supporting evidence for proposed design solution, and capstone project proposal. Students will need to purchase supplies/materials for this course.
