ED 331 Instruction of Reading
Focuses on the fundamentals of research-based best practices and provides familiarity with a representative array of instructional techniques and strategies in the area of reading. Teacher candidates learn instructional routines and techniques to address the five major components of reading instruction (phonological and phonemic awareness; phonics, spelling and word study; fluency development; vocabulary; and comprehension) suitable for various age and ability groups. Attention is given to differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Restricted: Year 3 Early Childhood Education majors.
